Sunday Morning Tao-Taoist Yoga-A Gentle Flow of Meditative Movement and Stillness

Join us for this modified Taoist Yoga class, a gentle flow through the 5 elements. This class consists of a gentle Qigong like flow, meditative breathing, and quiet meditation. If you are not able to sit on the floor for the meditation portion we can adapt using a chair (please let me know if a chair will be needed for you). Please bring your own mat and a blanket. Class is held on the first floor but bathrooms are on the 2nd floor up steps if needed. Register online for this class at the link below.
The healing art of Taoist Yoga is based on WuXing, the Chinese five alchemical elements of Earth, Metal, Water, Wood & Fire as they are transmuted into Qi (vital life force energy) within the body by moving and static postures to create well being and balance within the body, mind & spirit. Taoist yoga also combines Indian traditions with the Chinese theories of energy maps of the body and is generally considered to be a modern hybrid of the two systems. It is said to be appropriate for all people, regardless of their fitness, age or body type.
