What is an integrative health practitioner?

An integrative health practitioner embraces the philosophy of holistic health and  provides a bridge between conventional medical recommendations and holistic recommendations that encompass the whole person. An integrative health practitioner responsibility is to support a client with their medical recommendations and to also help the client achieve wellness through the balanced implementation of integrative health modalities. The varied modalities that an integrative health practitioner employs help to increase the natural vitality of the individual and bring the body systems back into balance.

About NCBTMB and the BCTMB Credential

Board Certification (BCTMB), created by the National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork (NCBTMB), is the highest voluntary credential within the massage therapy and bodywork profession. To achieve it, one must meet advanced requirements, as well as pass the rigorous Board Certification Exam. Passing the Board Certification exam indicates a level of skills and knowledge a massage therapist is expected to possess when working within a clinical and/or integrative healthcare environment. The BCTMB credential indicates a massage therapists’ level of professional knowledge with a stronger research-based education than what is considered entry- level knowledge.

As a Board Certified massage therapist, in addition to my State of Pennsylvania massage license required renewal every two years, I must also re-certify my BCTMB credentials which also includes a criminal history background check.

As a Licensed Massage Therapist I am also required to hold a valid CPR/First Aid certificate as well as complete Mandated Reporter training every two years.
