There is a minimum amount of people needed to hold this class\, if that is not met date will be rescheduled.  \nThe calendula flower Calendula officinalis is well known for its ability to heal and has therapeutic actions that include anti-inflammatory\, antiseptic\, antispasmodic\, astringent\, and emollient. These actions make it an effective choice to use for an infused massage oil. Calendula has been used topically for muscle soreness and many types of skin problems. The oil has the ability to soften and smooth the skin and scar tissue and is very well tolerated by those with sensitive skin. \nRequired Supplies­-1 set of sheets and pillowcase. 1 large towel. \nYou will be supplied with 4oz bottle of infused oil\, 1oz dried calendula flowers. \nThis class is a mixture of lecture and hands on training. Students will: \n●  Receive knowledge of the therapeutic actions of the plant and how it applies to massage and other uses \n●  Learn the basics of how to choose a base oil for the infusion \n●  Learn how to make the infused oil in class \n\n\nLearn any contraindications of the infused oil\n\n\n    ●  Practice massage therapy techniques on classmates using infused oil \n\nLearning Objectives & Outcomes \n           Upon completion of this course students will demonstrate proficiency in the understanding of the therapeutic actions of the calendula flower and how to prepare and use an infused oil from the flowers.  Students will also learn safety precautions and contraindications involved with the calendula flower.

Be one of the first to receive one of these unique paintings. \nOnce you make your donation you will be contacted and instructed where to send your photo of your pet (cat or dog) the clearer the image the better. One animal per photo please. \nYour PAINTING will then be on display a the Integrative Healing Arts Studio in West Reading during the Second Friday event in August. The ARL will be there with adoptables. You can pick-up your painting after 6:30 p.m. or anytime after at the shelter during normal business hours.

DESCRIPTION:Crystals and gemstones have been used for thousands of years as powerful healing aids. We may not always be conscious of it\, but Crystal Therapy is part of our everyday life. We use the power of crystals in the form of rock salt and season our food using table salt crystals. Many people wear precious\, semi-precious stones and different minerals not only as jewelry but for their healing benefits as well.  Crystal healing is a powerful\, yet gentle therapy that works on all levels of the body\, mind and spirit. Crystals have the potential to help all of us in a specialized way. You’ll discover how they can draw in and radiate healing energy specific to each symptom of illness. \nThis is a beginner class for those that are new to crystals or would like to further their knowledge in the use of crystals. Class time is 3 hours.  In this class we will explore how crystals synchronize with the seven major chakras for healing and clearing of energy fields.  A set of chakra stones and a pendulum will be included in the price of the class.  We will focus on the healing properties of the stones given in the class and how to use them. \nIn addition\, this class explains how to store and care for your crystals by cleaning\, clearing and charging them to amplify their healing abilities. We’ll also focus on some of the ways crystals and other stones are used in healing methods\, enhancing meditation\, and promoting spiritual development. \nThis class will give you a deeper understanding in one of Mother Nature’s wonderful and natural therapies\, and you’ll soon find yourself pleasantly involved in crystal energy as part of your daily life.\n\nIf you are a Licensed Massage Therapist\, 3 CEU’s will be awarded for this class.  You will learn how to use Crystal Therapy as a stand alone service or how to integrate crystals into your massage sessions.Please see the Classes and Continuing Education Page for important information about continuing education classes.\n\nIf you are a Reiki practitioner crystals can be a wonderful addition to your services as well.  I will show you ways to integrate crystals into your Reiki sessions.\n\nFor this class we will be working on yoga mats.  Please bring one if you have one.  Wear comfortable clothing.\n\nCost of class is $75 and includes crystals and a pendulum. Class size is limited to 6 people.  Registration is required prior to class with a non-refundable deposit of $25. DESCRIPTION:See the Animal Rescue League of Berks County’s Event for more details.  Artist Jan Gaul will be offering 5″ x 7″ charcoal pencil pet sketches to the first 10 people who make a donation of $40 to the Animal Rescue League of Berks County. These unique sketches will not be offered again until the fall. During this event I will also be offering chair massage and short Reiki sessions for $1.00 per minute to benefit the ARL. Pets are welcome for Reiki too 🙂 \nPlease contact the Animal Rescue League of Berks County to make your donation. Once you make your donation you will be contacted and instructed where to send your photo of your pet (cat or dog) the clearer the image the better. One animal per photo please. \nYour sketch will then be on display a the Integrative Healing Arts Studio in West Reading during the Second Friday event. The ARL will be there with adoptables. You can pick-up your sketch at the event or anytime after at the shelter during normal business hours. Reiki offers comfort\, nurture and support for the good health and balance of your mind\, body and emotions. \nIn this degree you are connected to the source of healing Reiki energy which has the ability to gently and powerfully promote balance among all the body’s systems and the regenerative processes of body and mind. \nThis level will help to bring about your own self development and bring harmony and healing into your life. Level I includes an overview of the history of Reiki\, the hand placements and self and group practice. You will also be introduced to and learn about the chakra system. \nRegistration and $50 deposit is due by 5/20.  Call 610-451-9577 to register. Anyone can learn\, 8 CEU’s for LMT’s.  There is a minimum amount of students needed to hold the class or date will be rescheduled. \nPlease note that it appears that in the 2019 renewal year the State of Pa will no longer accept continuing education from courses that are excluded from requiring licensure like Reiki\, Reflexology\, etc. per Section 13 of the Pa State Massage Therapy Law.\nAny continuing education taken in these subjects for the 2017 renewal will be accepted so if you are considering learning Reiki or other modalities that are excluded for CEU’s this is the year to do it! If you are coming from another state for continuing education please verify with your state to make sure you can get credits in these subjects.
