Stay refreshed during this heatwave. I have some delicious aromatherapy blends to cool your senses that can be added to your service here at the studio. Lemon & lavender, mint garden tea, mojito, mango mandarin, and green tea and lime are just a few favorites right now. Cool stones are also a complementary add-on right now to any massage until August 31st!
Reiki is a powerful natural healing system that is complete and whole in itself but also acts synergistically with all other healing methods. As an eclectic being that is drawn to many other forms of energy work and I like to integrate these forms into my Reiki sessions. I felt the need to differentiate between a more traditional Reiki and Integrative Reiki since many of these other forms are not part of the traditional system and I want my clients to be able to have a choice in what type of energy work they receive.
The Integrative Reiki I offer is my own signature method which includes all of the principals of traditional Reiki but integrates the use of crystals, sound healing, and other intuitively guided energy work (often referred to by my clients as “just do your thing :) Customized aromatherapy is also included if desired. After an integrative Reiki session we discuss anything that may have come up during the session and I offer intuitive guidance.
The gentle healing art of Reiki draws on universal life energy to benefit people and animals of any age and in any state of health. Reiki offers comfort, nurture and support for the good health and balance of your mind, body and spirit. Reiki is an ancient, Eastern, healing art that promotes healing and helps to balance and energize you physically, emotionally, mentally and spiritually. It is administered by using subtle hand placements to bring about the body’s own natural healing process. Reiki is based on the idea that an unseen life force energy flows through us. If one’s life force energy is low then we are most likely to get sick or feel stress, if it is high we are more capable of being happy & healthy.
Sessions are available in 30, 45, or 60 minute time slots. Traditional Reiki sessions can also be scheduled.
My signature Integrative Massage is a therapeutic method for relaxation, circulation, and relief of chronic pain and discomfort that combines principals of massage & bodywork including physical, emotional, and spiritual elements to support a holistic mind-body-spirit approach to wellness. While my Integrative massage is therapeutic in nature, it is generally good for those that prefer light or medium pressure. If you prefer a massage that focuses on the deeper layers of muscle tissue you may choose a deep tissue upgrade for $15. With a deep tissue upgrade you will get the focus needed on deeper layers as well as the energy work included in my Integrative Massage.(Deep tissue does not mean hard pressure, see deep tissue massage on service page for more information)
Some of the things that are incorporated into my integrative massage sessions are crystals, aromatherapy, Reiki, acupressure, sound healing, chakra clearing and balancing, and any other modalities and techniques that I am trained in and may be guided to use. I am Board Certified in Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork by the NCBTMB.
When you come for your session you will fill out a health history form and we will also discuss your goals and main focus areas for the session. Based on what we discuss I will base the session off your goals, my knowledge, and intuitive guidance. While Integrative Massage is one of my signature services, If you prefer, you may choose a Therapeutic Massage which is more clinical in nature and does not incorporate energy work. Any service you choose will be specific to your individual needs. For a full list of the services that are provided here at the studio you may visit the services and rates page . Can you feel the healing energy that comes from this painting? I feel it resonates with the throat chakra. Often you will find Artist Jan Gaul, of Wicked Mystic Art Studio, outside the studio painting, this one was completed during West Reading’s July 2nd Friday event. If you have ever visited the studio then you may have seen my very large lotus painting that Jan created a few years ago, many people comment on how peaceful they feel when looking at it. During the painting process I send healing Reiki energy into the painting, each layer contains healing energy that radiates out to those that gaze upon it and fills the room. While I wish I could keep all of them, other than the one hanging in my treatment room, they are for sale. This particular one has sold but others will be created and all will be unique in their own way, price ranges will vary depending on the length of the creation process and size.
This weekend I made some infused oil from my beautiful St. John’s wort plant. St. John’s wort is traditionally known and used for its ability to promote a feeling of well being but it also has many therapeutic actions that make it great for topical use that include antibacterial, anti-inflammatory, anti-neuralgic, astringent, and antiseptic which can make it a wonderful healing body oil and massage oil for sore muscles.
Making an infused oil is easy and rewarding as you use what nature provides us to heal. In this blend there are simple ingredients of sweet almond oil, St. John’s wort, and some lavender essential oil which is optional. Other essential oils can also be added to enhance the aroma or therapeutic intention of your blend. Take care in the sun if you are using a body oil with St. John’s wort because it could increase your chances of getting sunburn.
Some fun herbal and aromatherapy workshops will be scheduled soon here at the studio where we will be making many of these different preparations. Make sure to ask for some of my St. John’s wort massage oil for your next scheduled massage!
