Soothing Headaches with Crystals

Headaches can be a real pain…literally!  Often they can be soothed and even eliminated with the use of crystals. Instead of reaching for a bottle of pain killers give this a try instead.

When I’m working with crystals for a headache I like to use amethyst, lapis lazuli, carnelian, and smokey quartz and you will want to use smooth stones not rough ones.  Sometimes I will use all four and other times just one of them, use your intuition, you’ll know which is best for you.  I choose this combination because amethyst is very effective for pain and the color lavender is cooling and calming.  Lapis can quiet a screaming migraine, carnelian soothes the sinuses, and smokey quartz absorbs negative energy, stress, and calms the nerves.

For best results find a quiet place to rest and have your crystals within reach, I find it more effective when they are a bit chilled. Pick one and use it to gently massage around the eyes, forehead, and sinus pressure points. You can also press them gently into the scalp and wherever you are feeling pain in your head. When the crystal starts to get warm put it down and grab another one, continuing to massage the face and head. Continue this process as long as you can to find relief, usually within fifteen to thirty minutes there is a noticable reduction in pain.

Keep in mind, while the occasional headache can be expected sometimes, constant and persistent headaches can be a sign of an underlying health condition and you should see a health professional if they will not go away.
